You may recognize him as a member of the recruiting team at BigCommerce. However, after a four-year stint as Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter, where he supported the Marketing and Sales teams, Simmon Belaineh recently took the leap into new territory.
In the last month, Belaineh started his new role as a Partner Marketing Manager, supporting the Partner Growth team. He’s excited for the opportunities to come with a new team.
Learn how connection helps Simmon Belaineh bring people together inside BigCommerce and beyond.
Simmon Belaineh: “BigCommerce was my entry point into ecommerce. A friend who was a former BC employee invited me to a referral event back in 2018; and after learning more about the mission and purpose behind BC and our product, it was a no-brainer that this is where I wanted to grow my career.”
SB: “So many things, and I sincerely mean that. But it will always first and foremost be the people for me; because I believe it’s the people who make all the other things great.”
SB: “I’m in week two of my role, so I feel like I may need a little time before I can answer that question more directly. However, I look forward to being a helpful resource for our Partners and the Partner team and winning together.
“I really enjoy collaboration, creative/strategic thinking and building relationships, and I believe this role will allow me to exercise all of those things.”
SB: “I really enjoy music, fashion, sports and creative projects. I am a musician myself, and also help lead a creative platform/community which focuses on discovering, connecting and highlighting local up and coming artists of various mediums. We also focus on curating creative spaces that bring people together.
“Aside from that, I enjoy traveling, exercising/swimming, watching TV and spending time with family and friends.”
SB: “I would say I mainly shop for clothes. Occasionally, household goods.”
SB: “If I had an online store, I would most likely sell clothes, art and accessories.”
SB: ”Larq — self-cleaning water bottles.”
SB: “It’s hard to pin down one thing. On the consumer side, I find the accessibility and user-experience really fascinating, and from a merchant side, the opportunity to scale your business and reach a wider customer base is also really cool.
“Lastly, I feel the industry has no ceiling in regard to growth and innovation.”
SB: “It’s hard to say exactly where ecommerce will be or go in the future, but I am certain that it will be a key element in our future. I think that there will be great advancements in its technology and how merchants connect and engage with their customers, the online commerce experience itself and how it ties in with the rest of the digital world.”
